So, raise your hand if you’re a small business owner and so that also means you also have to be in charge of content creation ✋ I know there are tonnes of videos being like “it’s not that hard” or “here’s how you do a month’s worth of content in 1 hour”. Absolutely amazing for the people who are making it, love to see it. But for most of us (including me) I think it can be a hard thing to fit into our days or weeks. So basically shout out to all the small business owners doing their best on social, and shout out to those nailing it. Anyone else just get one hiccup at a time? Also can’t believe I finally caught one on camera! But anyway, I always just automatically inform people what the sound is now if they’ve never heard it come out of my mouth before… because it’s an odd noise and the can be fairly loud! These hiccups are something I’ve been doing since I was my late teens (and yes I remember the very just solo hiccup I did). But anyway, it’s fair to say that most people are thrown or when they hear one for the first time. So if you hear one come from me in the wild, you now know what it is 😆

No joke being a small business owner is hard, especially when you’re the only one in it! You deffo have to be your own hype man, like all the time! But especially before a job with a client to get in the zone. This was from the day of my first proper photoshoot of the year and I can tell you now I was anxious af before it. I’m always a little anxious because I want to nail it. But for the first photography session after the winter, I was extra anxious because incase I was a little rusty. And I did the classic photographer thing of overshooting when a little nervous. But hey, it’s not the end of the world to occasionally do that on a photoshoot 🤷‍♀️ And the couple was gorgeous and the final photos are also gorgeous! ( which I can’t wait to share them with you soon 📸). Top tip: if you’re anxious or stressed about being a business owner and responsible for everything, being silly for a few minutes helps to decompress and get out your head for a second 💪

The last few moments before a photoshoot are when I’m most anxious 😬🫣 I’m usually sitting in my car keeping an eye out for my clients while trying to not stare other strangers down, but ready to jump out to greet my clients so they’re not hanging around for me. Mentally checking I packed all my cameras and gear. Running through my plan for the photoshoot in my head and adapting it to the current weather and any other in the moment factors. But I will say as soon as I get out the car and say hi to the lovely people or person I’m photographing, I get in the swing and all my anxiety goes 💪 Then it’s time to have some fun and capture some great memories 📸 #portraitphotography #portraitphotographer #couplephotography #selflovephotographer
